You are what you listen to. This is what your preference for music says about you. The Rocker
The Rocker likes to bump heads to thumping rock riffs. Heartbeat approximately matches that of drum sequences. A song without drums would hence induce a state of shock and horror. Can be said to harbour inner angst and turmoil which is released through listening to rock music. Rcckers come in many breeds. The youthful set would rock to punk teeny rock and perhaps even delve into faux pop-rock (See The Pop Fan). The more mature may recall times where Black Sabbath and Metallica ruled the day. This seasoned and weathered species of Rocker is almost extinct, just like the bands they follow. The Pop Fan Almost everybody is a Pop fan. That's cos Pop music is supposed to be Popular but inevitably it can also be called inoffensive, bland and even downright irritating at times. It may be 'cool' to hate on pop but you know that deep down inside that person would have a pop song which he just loves. A subset of the Pop fan is the pop-rocker. This happens when rock music becomes accepted into the mainstream and is then dumbed-down for the masses. Bands like Busted and McFly are the new boybands of the era. They maintain their success by singing the same old stuff that the boybands did, except they pluck some guitar riffs to go with it. Can anyone say 'manufactured'? Haha The Hip-hopper Hip-hop is treading the same path as Rock did. Its still considered 'urban' and perhaps rebellious, but its slowly being accepted. Many people are hopping onto it cos its the next cool thing. For the rest who do appreciate hip-hop, its for the raw lyrics and thumping bassline of the beats.
